For the first time in 6 years, the Basketball New Zealand national age-group tournaments will see North Canterbury Basketball represented after our u15 and u17 boys and girls teams qualified from the Mainland zone. We believe this is the first time ever that all 4 NC teams have qualified in the same year for u15s and u17s.

After competing under the Waitaha banner, in a combined team with Canterbury Basketball the past few years, changes to the rules forced the combined initiative to end. However, both CBA and NC were still wanting to collaborate for the benefit of our players and coaches, and carried on the combined WPP program previously delivered by the CRBF. 

Following the WPP conclusion, NC and CBA teams were selected in preparation for the qualifying tournaments held over April. The following players were selected to the NCBA teams.
