U14 REGIONALS

U14 REGIONALS 2026


​​​​​North Canterbury Basketball is excited to announce that trials for the 2026 U14 Regional Teams are now open!

To be eligible for the U14 Regional tournament players must be 13 years old or younger for all of 2026. They can not turn 14 years old in 2026. The youngest a player is allowed to be is 11 years old.

BBNZ Policy - For Under 14 competitions, players must be aged either 11, 12 or 13 years as at 31 December in the year in which the competition is held

To be eligible to trial for the NCBA U14 Regional team you must either live or attend school in the North Canterbury area.

TRIAL INFORMATION

VENUE - MAINPOWER STADIUM 

DATES - Sunday 2nd August

GIRLS - 9:00am – 10:30am

BOYS - 10:30am – 12:00pm


!! Please arrive early to collect your registration number and be ready to start on time !!

This is a closed trial. Only players, coaches and selectors attend. 

In fairness to team mates you must commit to all trainings unless by prior agreement with NCBA

This is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself, develop your game, and be part of an exciting representative experience.

​​​​​​​** Please note that any teams previously made by your child will have no influence on selections or entitle a player to a spot because they may have been in a certain team previously.

TRAININGS

Following the trials there will be weekly team trainings led by the Head Coaches. 

Team training times will be confirmed with coaches closer to the time. Trainings will be held on Sundays for the 9 weeks prior to tournament.

TOURNAMENT INFO - 2026

The tournament is being hosted in Dunedin 7th - 10th October

An estimated cost for 2026 is $850. This will cover travel costs, accommodation, meals, recovery food, tournament entry fee, training court hire and warm-up top. 

 Last year's group fundraised very well which more than halved the cost for many but this is up to each team to drive this.

Invoices will be sent to the players once selections have been made and players have confirmed their acceptance as part of the team.
