Manaaki Support Fund: Supporting Our Basketball Community
At North Canterbury Basketball Association (NCBA), we believe that participation in sports should be accessible to everyone. Our Manaaki Support Fund is a community-driven initiative designed to provide financial assistance to individuals and whānau who may face barriers to participating in our competitions and programs.

Its purpose is to ensure that financial challenges do not prevent aspiring players, referees, or coaches from enjoying the game we all love. Whether it’s covering registration fees, uniforms, or travel expenses, the fund offers a helping hand to those in need.
Who Can Apply?
The fund is open to:
- Players of all ages and levels, from beginners to competitive athletes.
- Whānau who may require financial support to enable their children’s participation.
- Community members taking part in NCBA programs, including refereeing and coaching opportunities.

Applications are reviewed confidentially by a dedicated panel, ensuring fairness and transparency. The fund prioritizes genuine needs and aims to distribute resources equitably across the community.
